Welcome to IEWLessonShare!

This site is designed to provide opportunities for teachers and parents to share lesson plans and teaching ideas based on the Institute for Excellence in Writing syllabus. If you are not already familiar with this program, go here: www.writing-edu.com

The principle is similar to shareware. Those who need lessons can pay a small fee (on the honor system) directly to those who have created lessons.

If you need some ready-made writing lessons or assignments for your students, you can check here to find various sets of lessons, at a specific grade level, covering specific Units in the IEW Syllabus, in a general or specific content area. You are welcome to download the lesson set, review it, and if you plan to use any or all of the lessons for your family or classroom, send the specified amount of money (usually about 50¢ per lesson) to the author. If you don't choose to use the lessons, you pay nothing.

All lessons are presented in .pdf format and can be opened and printed by anyone with Acrobat Reader, a free application from Adobe. If you cannot open the lessons here, then got to: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html.

If you have created some lessons or assignments that you think might be useful to others teaching with the IEW program, you may submit them to this site for review and posting. You may review the already posted lessons to see what format others have used, but you are not required to follow any particular layout.

Site Corrections

Site News I've received complaints from some users with the inability to download the lessons, so I've made a few modifications. If you too are have issues with downloading the lessons please try using the new "alternate" links, either labeled as (Alternate Download) or (Alt #) and this should remedy the problems.

The original links (which will stay up) are designed so that you are given the choice to either open the lessons, or to download them, so in this manner you have more control over the process, but it seems it has caused a few problems with some users, thus the modified links were also added.
